Described as “a magical experience”, Art in the Dark was created three years ago to display aerial dance in an entirely new and unique setting.
Presented in a forest, the dancers perform hanging from various apparatus attached to the trees.

Each year A-WOL Dance Collective creates a new show using the forest as a beautiful, natural setting. Guests enjoy the artistry of multiple flavors of dance set to amazing music all under the stars of a summer eve. Aerial flight, hip hop, modern dance, trampoline, harness and jazz are just a few examples of what you might experience at an Art in the Dark Show.

Art in the Dark creates community and brings art to a setting that reaches all types of audience, much beyond just the dance-lovers. Every year Art in the Dark is attended by people of all ages and interests. As art can sometimes be difficult to integrate into the mainstream, Art in the Dark has surpassed the boundaries and attracted children and adults from all walks of life.

A-WOL is touring Art in the Dark IV: Unraveled

This display of A-WOL is like nothing seen before. A-WOL’s best work from the past five years, plus a new 2008 premier piece, all re-worked and set with a backstage, technical feel. The audience will be a part of the entire experience, seeing everything from the full company warm-up (pre-show) to costume/make-up changes, rigging alterations (ladders and all) and even a cast bloopers video following credits to end the show!
